Hometown Hero: Cesar Villalba | Loving La La Land
Cesar Villalba’s love of fashion and bikes crosses continents. He’s from Spain but lives in Los Angeles. As a fashion designer, he travels to France and Italy. As a cyclist and triathlete, he races in across states and continents. Cesar breaks out of the tourist bubble wherever he is, jumping on his bike to navigate small roads and meet fellow cyclists.
Growing up in Spain, he wore a replica Banesto team kit of Spanish hero Miguel Indurain while exploring the local streets and trails. While he played soccer at a high level, his focus continually returned to triathlon, running, and all sorts of cycling disciplines, including alleycats, bike-packing, and gravel.
LA’s environs are ideal for group rides, technical roads, and trails like those in Griffith Park (of La La Land and Rebel Without a Causefame). He organizes a weekly mass group ride and equally enjoys the easy conversations and hard efforts.
